Urban Moon PUBLISHING awards publishing DEAL to writer’s conference registrant - $15K Book Deal to be Awarded

The New York Times and national best selling authors, Zane (Strebor Books) and JL King (Urban Moon Publishing) will host an exciting one day conference for aspiring writers, producers, screen writers and veteran authors in the Houston area. 

At this year’s conference Urban Moon Publishing will award a one time publishing contract to a conference registrant.  The winner will be awarded a book deal valued at $15K.  Upon registration, contestants must submit their completed manuscripts to conference registrars.  Then a panel of judges will review the literary works and select 10 manuscripts which will be judged by a panel of communications, journalism and media professionals.

This year’s conference will focus on efforts to increase the level of diversity in literary works and awareness of minority writers.

WHY: The Write Your Way Through (WYWT) Writers Conference is designed to increase the awareness of minority writers and authors through intense training and innovative developmental courses.  Conference registrants are introduced to aspiring writers, media experts, seasoned authors and business professionals through fora and information sessions

Contest Rules

Eligibility: This contest is open to all writers whether published or not, and regardless of experience. Current and former Urban Moon Publishing employees, constituents and their relatives are not eligible. The writer must submit a completed manuscript on May 26, during the conference in order to be eligible to win. 


Prizes:  One time publishing contract with Urban Moon Publishing to include:  registered ISBN number, proofreading, editing, book cover design, general counsel with publisher and editorial team. In the event of a tie, we will award additional prizes. 


Decisions: Judges are members of professional communications and journalism organizations. Entries are judged on the basis of originality, creative imagination, characterization, artistic quality, and the adherence to line limits. All decisions of the judges are final. The winner will be contact no later than June 30, 2007.  Urban Moon Publishing has one year to complete publishing process. 


Fees: There are no entry fees and no subsidy payments.  The award winner must be a registered attendee of the Write Your Way Though (WYWT) Writers Conference – Houston.


Rights: All literary work remains the property of the author.  Urban Moon Publishing is under no obligation to publish contest entries and can disqualify an entry at any time. The artist is under no obligation whatsoever to purchase a copy of the publication in which the literary piece may appear.


Notification: The prize winner will be notified by phone, [e]mail and/or posted on our internet site.

Segment on National Talk Show

Atlanta, GA, April 30, 2007 – Urban Moon Publishing (UMP), a leading Atlanta based self-publishing firm announces its partnership with In the Pink Productions an international television production company.  In addition to distribution and marketing services, Urban Moon Publishing offers its clients an “Author Spotlight” session on Talking with Tami, a national business and entertainment talk show.  The broadcast airs on public access television and Comcast Cable in more than four cities and states to include:  Atlanta, GA; Manhattan, NY and Chicago, IL.  The television show reaches more than 24 million viewers.
