1.  If I sign with Urban Moon Publishing (UMP) will my book(s) appear in bookstores?
Yes your book will appear in bookstores.  UMP leverages its professional and personal relationships with bookstores and distributors to insure maximum exposure of your book(s) based on the writer’s/author’s circulation numbers.

2.  Does major bookstore chains, i.e., Books-A-Million, Barnes and Noble, etc., accept books from self published authors?
Yes.  Major bookstores tend to work with authors who have sold a minimum of 5,000 copies of their book.  For this reason, it is important to track book sales.

3.  How many copies of the book will bookstores order and what is their purchase policy?
Many bookstores order three – 10 copies of your book and require at least a 40% discount off the retail price.  Contingent on sales they will increase the demand of the book.  As well, bookstores can choose to return your book if it does not sell in approximately 90 days.  It could take a bookstore approximately 90 days to compensate the author on book sales.

5.  Who is responsible for selling my books? 
The author is responsible for the sell of their book.  However, UMP works with clients to develop a marketing plan to position their literary works in target markets.  We identify appropriate outlets to engage readers and facilitate dialogues about their book among industry peers and constituents.   We increase awareness about our client’s book through innovate and strategic marketing campaigns.

6.  Will UMP print my books if I have completed a manuscript?
Yes.  UMP professional editorial team will review and comment on your manuscript.  Upon the authors review and approval, UMP will go to press and provide a print version of your manuscript.  The number of book copies depends on the purchased package.

7.  Does UMP publish all genres of books; how about magazines?
Yes, we publish literary works ranging from children’s to cook books and magazines to poetry compositions. 

 
8.  What happens after I sign a contract with UMP?

9.  Does UMP review completed manuscripts?
